Which Forms To Submit To Make Your New Baby's Name Official
Author: james kahn
Creating uncommon names is a creative thing to do when selecting a name for your newborn baby. But, it must be done with caution. Names should give off a positive feel. Robert. Michael. Sean. Anne. Sarah. Marie. These names give off positive vibrations. Why am I talking about vibes? A name creates first impression. If you name your daughter, Starlight, she may appear to be weird because the name itself is weird and uncommon for people. It even sounds like you named your daughter after an animal, a horse perhaps? This would make an impression that your daughter is a horse and you as parent may appear to be ludicrous for naming your daughter as such. When she grows up, other kids might tease her endlessly due to her fairy tale like name. Are you willing to risk your daughter’s feelings for a name? Children can be cruel at times. It would be better to name your child something that can add to her confidence and not to her loss of self esteem.
Uncommon names create problems in pronunciation and spelling. Again, do you want for your child to constantly correct his or her teacher, friends, colleagues and like everybody who comes in contact with her for the first time? You don’t have to make your child’s name difficult. There are nice and unique names to give your child without compromising his or her feelings.
Pick names that are usual, recognizable and known. It has to have that easy spelling and pronunciation feel to it. Be sure that the name you pick is the one you really like. And then again, pick a name that gives off positive images or sensations.
Imagine your son during the first day of school. Teachers will be calling him by name and remembering him by name too. If his name is too difficult to pronounce or is unfamiliar, how will he be remembered by the teacher? Negative first impressions are hard to let go of. Giggling among classmates will ensue. Teasing will start and your son will feel inferior.
When your daughter grows up and applies for a job, name is a great factor that affects call backs and interviews. Be the manager. If someone applies for you as a nanny to your boys aged 16, 15 and 14; say, a Jessica, a Beth, a Trixie and an Anastacia – whom will you immediately consider? Anastacia is too weird to handle… how do you pronounce it by the way? Trixie sounds like a female dog or a slutty escort. Jessica is too childish, while Beth gets your attention. Simple. Concise. No-nonsense. Right?
With these ideas in tow, you and your spouse have 9 months to think about what forms to submit with the name of your child. Bottom line is this decision is between you and your spouse. Jointly agree to what you feel is best to call your child.
